Oral health care in children from the time the first baby tooth erupts at around 6 - 8 months of age until mid-adolescence at around 15 years of age, which is the period when permanent teeth replace all baby teeth (except for the four last molars which erupt at around 18 years of age). Pediatric dentistry focuses mostly on baby teeth care, including advice on baby tooth care, dental procedures to prevent baby tooth decay, and tooth decay treatment.
